Great beer in this restaurant. Also, I enjoy the bar snacks, such as their olives and incredible pickled camembert cheese. The perfect partner for their house brews.

Friendly staff and incredible Thai food. I make the long journey here for lunch at least once a week. EVERY week. The quality is amazing, especially for this low price. Tastier than one or two other much more expensive Thai restaurants in Prague.

Wish I had found this place 4 years ago! I find Czech cakes are not sweet enough for my English tooth, but the cakes here are really nice and sweet. Not too sweet - just tasty as hell. Also, their portion sizes are very generous.

New burger restaurant, close to the centre. I had the MAG burger and was very impressed. Beer selection was great too. I must come here more often to see if there is a new king in town.

Bibimbap Korea

  • Chlumova 612/1, 130 00 Praha 3

New Korean restaurant in Prague. Don't be scared by the location. It's only 2 or 3 tram stops from the main central train station, so easy to get to for a really tasty bibimbap.

I love Czech white wine, and this is a great place to enjoy it - fresh from the vineyard, with a nice view over Prague. The food here is also of a high standard. I usually have the cheese on toast.

My Raw Cafe

  • Gourmet Pasáž, Dlouhá 39, Praha 1

Raw cafe in central Prague. I am definitely NOT a vegetarian, but when I feel like I want to be a good boy, I go here. It's close to my office and is also very popular with colleagues. It's also a great place to satisfy the office 4pm need for CAKE

Wow, what a nice discovery - in the heart of Prague, close to the town square there is this cute old czech restaurant. The beer selection is great, and the food is very tasty and amazingly cheap, especially considering location.

The James Joyce Irish Pub

  • U Obecního dvora 794/4, 110 00 Praha

This is a popular place for expats, especially the British. They serve high standard British food, so expect to pay a bit more than the average Czech restaurant. I would say the quality is worth the extra money.

This is the new favourite burger restaurant for the guys and me in the office. It's perfect every time. There are many cheaper places, but we are happy to pay for the consistent quality.

Prague is an incredible place. I live here 4 years before a TOURIST showed ME this place. We had a cocktail and watched from this stunning view over the astronomical clock and town square. Must see

Czech treats at the supermarket

When visiting Prague, be sure to try one or ALL of these Czech treats.

Thai and continental restaurant in Prague. I go here when I feel like something a little extra spicy and exciting. They make incredible curries and serve it with separate creamy coconut milk, so I can add/cool down according to taste. A nice touch.

    Café NONA

Cool cafe in Prague, next to the national theatre. I often go here for a pilsner or unfiltered gambrinus and chess with my friend. The soups are nice and cheap, and we play chess all night, looking over the historic national street.

For the more knowledgeable tourist or local, there is a district in Prague, behind the castle called 'Nove Svet' (New World). And if you are lucky, you will find this charming cafe/restaurant open when you visit.

Prague - Dresden breakfast on the train

When I take the saturday morning train from Prague to Dresden, I like to have breakfast. Not only is the coffee and food surprisingly good, but it's also a nice way to get a first class seat if the standard cars are full. Genius, huh ;-)

Kavárna Nový Svet ("New World Cafe") is a cute stop-off if you're visiting the New World of Prague. The coffee is excellent and cakes are tasty, made on-site.
