If you are lucky enough to be in Prague for the new year celebrations, you will find it's a little wild here. Thousands of people bring their own fun bombs and launch them from everywhere. If you avoid being hit by one, you'll love the drama.
Here in Prague, we are spoiled with so many galleries. It's confusing that we also have several places known as National Gallery. Here, I am showing photos from the Kinsky Palace.
Beautiful UNESCO protected gardens on the outskirts of Prague. You can reach it from central Prague in less than one hour, and worth the effort.
overlooking the Vltava river and marina, Vyšehrad is one that is on most people's list of things to do... but because it's a little far from centre, and prague has so many other jewels, people sometimes skip it. Please make the journey :-)
A popular spot among the locals. We like to watch the sunset from this hill. There is a beer garden nearby, so you can watch it with fresh beer. Or bring your own of course.
Just behind the 'Tyn Church' you will find the church of St. James. Compared to other jewels in Pragues' crown, this church does not see too much people traffic, but given the location, I urge you to have a peek. Inside is of course pretty amazing.
The Smetana Hall is one of the finest you will see and hear. Named after the much loved 19th century Czech Composer Bedřich Smetana. If concerts are not your thing then there's also an opulent bar and Pilsner restaurant downstairs.

Visitors to Prague love this statue. It's great fun watching the reactions it gets. Located in the grounds of the Franz Kafka Museum, so no need to pay. Living here in Prague, I think this is a 'piss-take' of Czech guys... known for pissing in public.
If you wish to get away from the centre, take a metro, or one of many trams to Náměstí Míru. You will see the Church of St. Ludmila. Not so old (late 19th century), but splendid all the same. Also, there are lots of great restaurants in this area.
Another hidden gem in Prague. Discreetly behind huge white walls close to Charles bridge, these gardens date back to the 13th century. If you go at the right time you can pick fruit from the trees. Peaceful walk with peacocks strolling elegantly free.
